During his tenure at Warwick High School, ISAIAH DAVIS excelled in a rigorous college prep curriculum and sought out specific pre-career and leadership opportunities to prepare to study engineering. As an elementary and middle school student, Isaiah led his football teams to five league championships as a starting quarterback, running back, and cornerback. At the high school level, the three-time AAU Junior Olympian shifted his focus to a program of studies steeped in STEM, to include Advanced Placement Biology, AP English, AP Environmental Science, AP Statistics, AP Calculus, AP Psychology, AP World History, AP Spanish V, and AP Human Geography.

Having participated in Hampton University’s Business of Engineering Camp and Young Diplomats Program, Isaiah enrolled in a TeacherBox Platinum SAT Prep Series and improved his Composite Score to a 1,320. As a result, Isaiah earned enough merit-based aid and tuition remission to cover all tuition and fees, room, board, and other expenses for all four years at Hampton University, where our course selection service equipped him to earn a stellar grade point average while earning 46 credits as Freshmen pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in preparation for a career in Aerospace Engineering. And resume and interview prep landed Isaiah an incredible internship with Accenture Federal Services.
During her tenure at Tabb High School, TRINITY GOOD proved to be an extremely disciplined student leader, a decorated fast-pitch softball player, and a committed servant leader in the community. Trinity’s long term goal is to improve the lives of others through scientific research. Already an exceptional student, as evidenced by her 4.3 Grade Point Average in a rigorous course of studies, Trinity enrolled in our SAT Prep Series during the spring of her Junior Year at Tabb High School.

After improving her composite SAT score to a 1,370 during the spring of her senior year, she was free to focus on her application to the United States Air Force Academy. Having received feedback on her resume, personal statement, and academic prompt, Trinity received a full academic scholarship to the Air Force Academy, where she is currently studying Aeronautical Engineering to ultimately become an astronaut.

As an African American of Ethiopian descent, Saron's goal was to utilize her undergraduate studies as a springboard to a medical degree that will position her to serve low-income and underrepresented patients in particular. She has accepted Howard University's BISON STEM SCHOLARS AWARD, which paid 100% of tuition, fees, room, board, meal plan, and provided a stipend for books for an annual award of $44,951 or $179,804. During her senior year at Howard, Saron utilized MDC's Medical School Application Assistance service to provide interview prep and feedback on her MD/PhD application materials. She was ultimately awarded a Vivien Thomas Scholars Initiative funded position in the Johns Hopkins Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program, where she will be employed by Johns Hopkins University as a Research Technologist and receive a full employee benefits package including health insurance and retirement savings as well as funding to attend scientific conferences, for a total aid package of $92,620.

After prepping with TeachersBox throughout the summer and early fall, Sean ultimately improved both his Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing scores to earn a 1250 composite SAT score. Coupled with his 3.95 Grade Point Average, solid personal statement, and demonstrated leadership, Sean earned early acceptance to Virginia Tech's College of Engineering, where he will study Biomedical Engineering to pursue a career designing innovative prosthetics of all types.
SIMONE WILLIAMS, an exceptional Woodside High School graduate, attended the Fall 2015 TeachersBox SAT Prep Series to increase her performance on the SAT and to improve her written communication skills. In addition to qualifying for a VTAG grant, having increased her composite SAT score, the Hampton University Pirate was awarded Housing and Merit Scholarships totaling over $15,000 per year; bringing her total four year award amount to $73,984. But Simone didn't stop there. Armed with scholarship application tools from TeachersBbox, she earned an additional $10,250 in scholarships from churches, sororities, credit unions, and civic and social organizations to defray the cost of her freshman year.
