About Mr. Davis
Warwick Alumnus Returns
I am a native of Newport News and a graduate of Warwick High School and the
College of William and Mary in Virginia. While in college I served as a
President's Aide, Black Student Organization President, and Student Association
Vice President for Cultural Affairs. I pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity,
Incorporated and received the Benjamin Stoddert-Ewell Award for outstanding
service to the College and the community, as well as the Algernon
Sydney-Sullivan Award for contributions made towards the advancement of the
College.
Upon graduation from college, I taught World History and World Geography at
Ferguson High School during its last year in existence. I then taught Psychology
and Pre-I.B. World Geography, sponsored the Sophomore class, and coached Cross
Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track for two years at Woodside High School.
In the summer of 1998 I relocated to Northern Virginia and taught in a D.C.
Public Charter School prior to accepting two positions in corporate finance. In
2003 I acquired my recertification and currently hold a Virginia teaching
certificate in History, current through the year 2007. My family relocated to
the peninsula in 2003 and I resumed my teaching and coaching career with Newport
News Public Schools. It has been a very rewarding opportunity to teach in
the International Baccalaureate Programme and to coach Cross Country for the
past three years at Warwick High School, my alma mater.
