Dear Parent(s) or Guardian(s),
Coach Holmes and I would like to take this time to thank you for encouraging
your son or daughter to participate in Cross Country this fall. We are excited
about the upcoming season and look forward to your continued support for Warwick
athletics.
Cross Country is a very demanding sport, and you must be made aware that
there is always a risk of injury for any athlete. To reduce this risk we require
much effort and dedication from all athletes. We admire and respect any young
person for making this kind of commitment. As we prepare for the upcoming
season, please encourage your student athlete to run on their own or attend a
running camp this summer. We will conduct voluntary conditioning on
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between July 24th and August 4th from 8am - 10
am at W.H.S. These are in no way mandatory and serve to acclimate our
runners to the summer heat and slowly get them in shape prior to the official
start of practice on August 7th. It is imperative, however, that all
athletes obtain a physical prior to conditioning or practicing with the team.
